This morning we drive through scenic Pennsylvania on our way to Gettysburg,
PA. Upon arrival a local guide will join us for a tour of the Gettysburg
Battlefield. The bloodiest and most decisive battle of the Civil War was fought
here on July 1, 2 & 3, 1863, resulting in 50,000 casualties. Time will also be
spent at the new Gettysburg Visitor’s Center. Our overnight is here in
Gettysburg. This evening we enjoy a delicious included meal together.

From Gettysburg we travel to Washington, DC, for a three-night stay. Today
we visit the Washington Cathedral, drive along Embassy Row, and spend time at
the National Air & Space Museum. Here you will find the largest collection of
historic air and spacecraft in the World, including the original Wright Brothers
“Spirit of St Louis.” Enjoy lunch on your own here. A local guide will join us
as we visit a number of monuments and memorials today including the FDR
Memorial; Jefferson Memorial; Lincoln, Vietnam, and Korean Memorials; Iwo Jima
Memorial; and the World War II Memorial. Then go to our hotel for the night.

More sightseeing today starting out with Mount Vernon, the estate of George
and Martha Washington, which has been restored to its appearance in the last
years of his life. Tour the house, grounds, gravesites, and Visitor’s Center

Later, we go to Union Station for an evening meal, on your own, and then see the
famous Washington landmarks lit up at night before returning to our hotel.

This morning at the Arlington Cemetery we will see one of the most
impressive sights ever, the Changing of the Guards at the Tomb of the Unknown
Soldier. The Cemetery has row after row of white crosses signifying the price
many have paid for our freedom. Plus we visit the American History Museum,
Kennedy Center, and Holocaust Museum. What a wonderful three days in DC
exploring and experiencing the history and significance of our capital.
