Wed., April 7: Gettysburg, PA (CB, D)
This morning we drive through scenic Pennsylvania on our way to Gettysburg, PA. Upon arrival a local guide will join us for a tour of the Gettysburg Battlefield. The bloodiest and most decisive battle of the Civil War was fought here on July 1, 2 & 3, 1863, resulting in 50,000 casualties. Time will also be spent at the new Gettysburg Visitor’s Center. Our overnight is here in Gettysburg. We get together for an included meal this evening.

We’ll leave for Washington, DC, this morning. Upon arrival we will tour the Washington National Cathedral. Then travel Embassy Row. Enjoy lunch (on your own) during our visit to the American History Museum, which was recently renovated. Then we will tour the Lincoln, Korean and Vietnam Memorials, FDR Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial, and the World War II Memorial. Enjoy the pink and white Cherry Blossoms in the area while in D.C. for the next three nights.

Fri., April 9: Washington, DC (CB)
This morning we make a stop at the Iwo Jima Memorial on our way to Arlington National Cemetery. Here you will find the gravesites of John F. and Robert Kennedy, and the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Row upon row of simple markers remind us of the true cost of war, peace and freedom. Lunch will be on your own as we spend time at the Air & Space Museum next. Then on to tour Ford Theatre and the Capitol. Sure to be a day filled with history, heritage, and pride in our veterans and our country. After going to Union Station to eat this evening you will enjoy a night driving tour of our nation’s capital. Washington, DC, at night is truly a sight you must see.

Sat., April 10: Washington, DC (CB)
This morning we will walk in the footsteps of our first president and better understand the life and times of George and Martha Washington at Mount Vernon, their 18th century estate. We then tour the Holocaust Museum, see the Kennedy Center, and more as time allows while here in DC.

Sun., April 11: New York, NY (CB)
Departing Washington, DC, this morning we travel to New York City. We will then continue to our accommodations just outside of New York City in Secaucus, NJ, for two nights. Upon our arrival we will make a stop at South Street Seaport for time on your own. Tonight enjoy an evening meal (on own) in the Times Square Area. Today we go back to Manhattan Island to board our ferry in Battery Park taking us to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Back on Manhattan Island a local guide will board our coach for a city tour, starting in Battery Park, that will take us “uptown, downtown, east side, west side and all around the town.” We’ll enjoy seeing the Bowery, Wall Street, the Garment District, Central Park, Theater District, and Ground Zero.

Leaving New York City behind, our scenery will change from skyscrapers to gentle rolling hills and deep forests as we make our way to Elyria, OH.
