Mon., April 5: Chicago, IL, area Journey to the East Coast experiencing the history of our
Nation’s Capital, and the Big Apple. We will become acquainted with
our traveling companions enroute to the Chicago area, our overnight
destination.
Tues., April 6: Monroeville, PA (CB)
We continue eastward today enjoying the countryside as we drive
through Indiana and Ohio to Pennsylvania. We will be spending the
night in Monroeville, PA.
Wed., April 7: Gettysburg, PA (CB, D)
This morning we drive through scenic Pennsylvania on our way to
Gettysburg, PA. Upon arrival a local guide will join us for a tour
of the Gettysburg Battlefield. The bloodiest and most decisive
battle of the Civil War was fought here on July 1, 2 & 3, 1863,
resulting in 50,000 casualties. Time will also be spent at the new
Gettysburg Visitor’s Center. Our overnight is here in Gettysburg. We
get together for an included meal this evening.
Thurs., April 8: Washington, DC (CB)
We’ll leave for Washington, DC, this morning. Upon arrival we will
tour the Washington National Cathedral. Then travel Embassy Row.
Enjoy lunch (on your own) during our visit to the American History
Museum, which was recently renovated. Then we will tour the Lincoln,
Korean and Vietnam Memorials, FDR Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial,
and the World War II Memorial. Enjoy the pink and white Cherry
Blossoms in the area while in D.C. for the next three nights.
Fri., April 9: Washington, DC (CB)
This morning we make a stop at the Iwo Jima Memorial on our way to
Arlington National Cemetery. Here you will find the gravesites of
John F. and Robert Kennedy, and the Changing of the Guard at the
Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Row upon row of simple markers remind
us of the true cost of war, peace and freedom. Lunch will be on your
own as we spend time at the Air & Space Museum next. Then on to tour
Ford Theatre and the Capitol. Sure to be a day filled with history,
heritage, and pride in our veterans and our country. After going to
Union Station to eat this evening you will enjoy a night driving
tour of our nation’s capital. Washington, DC, at night is truly a
sight you must see.
Sat., April 10: Washington, DC (CB)
This morning we will walk in the footsteps of our first president
and better understand the life and times of George and Martha
Washington at Mount Vernon, their 18th century estate. We then tour
the Holocaust Museum, see the Kennedy Center, and more as time
allows while here in DC.
Sun., April 11: New York, NY (CB)
Departing Washington, DC, this morning we travel to New York City.
We will then continue to our accommodations just outside of New York
City in Secaucus, NJ, for two nights. Upon our arrival we will make
a stop at South Street Seaport for time on your own. Tonight enjoy
an evening meal (on own) in the Times Square Area. You also have the
option of attending a Broadway Play this evening (price of tickets
not included in cost of tour) (show t.b.a.).
Mon., April 12: New York, NY (CB)
Today we go back to Manhattan Island to board our ferry in Battery
Park taking us to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Back on
Manhattan Island a local guide will board our coach for a city tour,
starting in Battery Park, that will take us “uptown, downtown, east
side, west side and all around the town.” We’ll enjoy seeing the
Bowery, Wall Street, the Garment District, Central Park, Theater
District, and Ground Zero.
Tues. April 13: Elyria, OH (CB)
Leaving New York City behind, our scenery will change from
skyscrapers to gentle rolling hills and deep forests as we make our
way to Elyria, OH.
Wed., April 14: Rockford, IL (CB, D)
From Elyria we travel to Shipshewana, IN, which is the third largest
Amish community in the United States. We will have a delicious meal
at Das Dutchman Essenhaus in Middlebury, IN. Then continue on to
Rockford, IL.
Thurs., April 15: Home (CB)
We are homeward bound today as we return from our Washington, DC,
and New York City Tour, enjoying the country and big city skylines,
DC Cherry Blossoms, historic places and museums, and much more in
this fun Spring Tour. Meal and comfort stops will be made along the
way, arriving home early afternoon. Thank you for traveling with

transportation, transfers, guide fees, tour director services, events included
in tour itinerary, lodging, baggage handling (for one piece of luggage per
person), taxes, tips for services included in tour, meals mentioned in "Price
Includes" section of itinerary. NOT INCLUDED: Tips for meals or services not
included in tour price; also, gratuities to Tour Director and Driver are
customary.
PICK-UP AND DROP-OFF locations follow the route of the tour to maintain a
flowing schedule. On tours 6 days or longer, shuttling may be available from
various locations, with minimum number of passengers. Some shuttles may require
an overnight stay. Fees may apply for shuttle service /hotel accommodations.
General Tour Information
CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS: Receive a 100% refund when canceling, for any reason,
up to final payment due date. After final payment due date (listed on individual
brochure) and up to 7 business days prior to departure receive 75%, less
non-recoverable fees; this is for medical reasons only, need note from doctor.
(Travel companions are also covered) Tour cost is non-refundable 7 business days
prior to departure. There are no refunds on the air or cruise portion of the
tour after 61 days prior to departure. No refund to no shows and for non-covered
cancellations. If client cancels reservation, any refund processed by credit
card will be less a 3% processing fee. Call us for information on Optional
Insurance. The purchase of optional trip cancellation or interruption insurance
is highly recommended. Optional insurance can be purchased up to 72 hours prior
to departure. Certain deadlines apply for waiving pre-existing medical
exclusion. Optional Insurance premium is non-refundable. See Coverage Policy
Sheet for more details. FUEL SURCHARGE: Utopia Tours reserves the right to add a
fuel surcharge to the cost of the tour. Notice will be given prior to departure.
AIRFARE INCLUDED: The availability of airline seats may be limited from each
departure city. Utopia Tours reserves the right to provide ground transportation
to or from a larger or alternate airport. PERSONALLY ESCORTED: A congenial and
trained tour director will handle every detail, attend to the comfort and
pleasure of each individual and provide expert guidance throughout the tour.
LUGGAGE: Provision is made for handling one piece of luggage per person. You may
also take another travel bag to be handled by yourself. SEATING
ARRANGEMENTS: No seats are reserved on our motorcoach tour except the seat
behind the driver which is reserved for the Tour Director. A seat rotation
procedure will be followed. IDENTIFICATION: For tour members entering
Canada or foreign ports, passports are required starting 6/1/09. UTOPIA TOURS
reserves the right to make changes or alterations in the printed itinerary,
dates, routings, or included features prior to or during the tour as may be
necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of the tour without prior
notice and assumes no responsibility for delays and/or expenses due to such
