Sun., June 15: Utopia Tours will take you to Alaska to experience the spectacular scenery and wonderful attractions of Alaska, the Yukon and the Canadian Rockies. As we start out on this adventurous tour we will make our necessary meal stops on our way to Estevan, SK, for the night. We will enjoy a get-acquainted meal this evening.
Mon., June 16: Enjoy the ride today as we head into Saskatchewan, making a dinner stop in Moose Jaw, SK, for sightseeing before continuing along the prairies to Alberta. Tonight will be spent in Medicine Hat, AB.
Tues., June 17: We arrive in Calgary, AB, the oil capital of Canada, and the second largest city in Alberta which hosted the 1987 Winter Olympic Games. From Calgary we will be continuing on to Banff, AB, beautifully nestled in the Canadian Rockies. You will have the option of taking a gondola ride up Sulphur Mountain for a picturesque view of Banff and Bow Valley (not included in the cost of tour). The night will be spent in Banff, a quaint alpine village where you can eat, shop, and browse downtown.
Wed., June 18: This morning we will stop at the beautiful emerald waters of Lake Louise and have a cup of coffee at Chateau Lake Louise. Then on to Three Valley Gap, nestled between the mountains near Revelstoke, BC. While here enjoy a guided tour of the ghost town and gardens, and then conclude our day with a delicious meal.
Thurs., June 19: Well depart for Prince George, BC, for the night. Prince George is the cultural center of the northern half of British Columbia.
Fri., June 20: We will take a scenic drive along forests and rivers through beautiful British Columbia to Prince Rupert, BC, for the night. Prince Rupert is recognized as one the worlds leading ports and is rich in history.
Sat., June 21: This morning we start our adventure along Alaskas incredible coastline as we cruise the Alaska Marine Highway. We will travel northbound along the Inside Passage from Prince Rupert to Juneau, witnessing magnificent fjords, towering glaciers, and the historic waterfront towns of Ketchikan, Wrangell, and Petersburg. Cabins are included for one night. While cruising a park ranger is on board to share information about the marine animals, birds, plants and other wildlife we will see.
Sun., June 22: Our ferry will arrive this morning in Juneau, AK, Alaskas capitol city that can only be reached by water or air. A local guide will join us for a tour seeing the Mendenhall Glacier, the Governors Palace, and more. Tonight you are free to walk to the many shops and restaurants along the waterfront. We stay the night here in Juneau, AK.
Mon., June 23: This morning we board our ferry in Juneau and travel up the Lynn Canal to Skagway. Upon our arrival in Skagway you will have time to explore the oldest city in Alaska, which retains the romance and excitement of yesteryear with its 1890s look and atmosphere. It was the Gateway to the Klondike gold fields. Skagway, AK, is our home for the night.
Tues., June 24: This morning we board the White Pass & Yukon Railroad for a scenic train ride up the White Pass from Skagway to Fraser. Then we reboard our motorcoach for a scenic drive to Whitehorse, YK. Tonight you will be treated to the "Frantic Follies," a turn of the century vaudeville revue which depicts the entertainment seen by the pioneers of the Great Klondike Gold Rush of 1898. We will stay here in Whitehorse, YK.
Wed., June 25: Today well be heading out on the Klondike Loop to Dawson City, YK, which was the center of the Klondike gold rush. Step back in time as we pan for gold at Bonanza Creek, a gold rush town. This evening is free to visit Diamond Tooth Gerties Saloon or just relax and enjoy this "Land of the Midnight Sun."
Thurs., June 26: Leaving Dawson City we will see the homes of Robert Service and Jack London, whose novels and poetry are made famous in the area. We will be taking a ferry across the Yukon River and then travel on the "Top of the World Highway," one of the most magnificent drives in the world where the views go on as far as the eye can see. Stopping at Chicken, AK, for lunch (on own) and continuing on to Tok, AK, for the night. Tok is known as the dog-sledding capital of Alaska.
Fri., June 27: On our way to Fairbanks we will stop at Delta Junction and see the sign marking the end of the Alaska Highway. Stops will be made at Rikas Roadhouse for coffee and at Santa Claus House at the North Pole for some early Christmas shopping. In the afternoon well board the Riverboat Discovery for an unforgettable cruise aboard an authentic sternwheeler. We join Captain Binkley on this narrated cruise on the Chena and Tanana Rivers, view the "wedding of the rivers," step ashore at the Old Chena Indian Village, experience a traditional Athabascan fish camp, and more. This evening we will go to Pioneer Park to enjoy an included delicious Salmon Bake. Our evening will be spent in Fairbanks, AK.
Sat., June 28: Enjoy beautiful scenery as we head out of Fairbanks this morning, with a coffee break at Nenana before we head for Denali National Park. Denali means "the Great One" and is the second largest of our national parks. Mount McKinley, which sits here in the horizon, is the highest point in North America. Here we will take a wildlife tour deep into the wilderness with a box lunch included. The Denali Park area is our stay for the night.
Sun., June 29: Departing Denali this morning, we enjoy the scenic drive to Wasilla, AK, where we will visit the Iditarod Trail Headquarters and learn of the annual Anchorage to Nome Dog Sled Race. Then continue to Matanuska Valley, a farming community, plus a stop in Palmer, AK. Our destination is Anchorage, Alaskas largest city, bordered on the east by the beautiful Chugach Mountain Range, on the west by the Knik Arm of Cook Inlet. We will be sightseeing around Anchorage seeing Lake Hood Seaplane Base and more, before having our included farewell meal this evening. We will spend two nights here in Anchorage, AK.
Mon., June 30: We travel from Anchorage along the Seward Highway to Milepost 48 and through Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel to Whittier, AK. From Whittier we start a full-day Wilderness Explorer cruise along the Prince William Sound. Lunch is included as we relax and marvel in our surroundings full of history, wildlife, and beauty. Marine animals and birds flourish in these areas. Other options in Anchorage will be available as well. Our last evening of the tour will again be spent here in Anchorage, AK.
Tues., July 1: We depart on our return flight to Minneapolis today. A Utopia Tours motorcoach will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your drop-off points. Thank you for choosing Utopia Tours for your adventure to the Last Frontier.
