Tues., July 1: We depart this afternoon for Minneapolis, MN, for an overnight, as we prepare for our flight tomorrow morning.

Wed., July 2: Our exciting adventure begins as we look forward to the spectacular scenery and wonderful attractions of both Alaska and the Canadian Rockies. After an enjoyable flight to Anchorage, AK, we will be transferred to our hotel. We will do some sightseeing around Anchorage, then this evening we will enjoy an included get-acquainted meal at the Sour Dough Mining, Co. We will spend two nights in Anchorage, AK.

Thurs., July 3: Today starts out with a full-day Wilderness Explorer cruise along the Prince William Sound. Lunch is included as we relax and marvel in our surroundings full of history, wildlife, and beauty. Marine animals and birds flourish in these areas. We will spend our second night in Anchorage.

Fri., July 4: Happy 4th of July! We will depart Anchorage this morning and travel through Matanuska Valley, the center of agriculture in Alaska, with a stop in Palmer, AK. Enjoy our visit to the Iditarod Center to learn more about dog-sledding. A scenic drive will take us past majestic mountains, viewing Mt. McKinley, as we travel to Denali National Park. Here in Denali, which means "The Great One," sits Mt. McKinley, the highest mountain in North America. We will spend the night near the park.

Sat., July 5: This morning a wildlife tour will take us deep into the Park for a chance at viewing wildlife and to enjoy an included box lunch. Later, we depart the Denali area and travel, with a coffee stop in Nenana, to Fairbanks, AK, for two nights. Fairbanks is Alaskas second largest city.

Sun., July 6: We step back in time to the gold rush days out at the El Dorado Gold Mine as we pan for gold. This afternoon we join Captain Binkley of the Riverboat "Discovery" for a narrated cruise along the Tanana and Chena Rivers. This evening enjoy an included Salmon Bake at Pioneer Park - delicious!

Mon., July 7: This morning we will stop at the North Pole for some early Christmas shopping at the Santa Claus House. Then travel along the Alaska Mountain Range, with a coffee stop at Rikas Roadhouse. In Delta Junction we will stop to see the sign marking the end of the Alaska Highway. Then well take the Alaska Highway to Tok. From Tok the Highway follows the Tanana River to Beaver Creek, YK, our destination for the night.

Tues., July 8: Today we continue on to Whitehorse, YK. Tonight you will be treated to the "Frantic Follies," a turn of the century vaudeville revue which depicts the entertainment seen by the pioneers of the Great Klondike Gold Rush of 1898. The night is spent here in Whitehorse, YK.

Wed., July 9: From Whitehorse we will drive along beautiful scenery, following the White Pass Trail to Skagway, AK, the oldest city in Alaska, which retains its 1890s look and atmosphere.

Thurs.-Fri., July 10-11: This morning we board the Alaska Marine Highway Ferry this morning for a southbound cruise along the Lynn Canal, seeing many glaciers, whales, bald eagles, and other wildlife and nature. The ferry will spend some time in Juneau - Alaskas capitol city that is only reachable by water or air. Enjoy this scenic and relaxing cruise along the Inside Passage with cabins for two nights. As we continue cruising we stop at Ketchikan, Wrangell, and Petersburg. A park ranger will be on board to narrate and point out different sights and give information as we cruise along the Inside Passage.

Sat., July 12: While on the ferry there is a cafeteria available, a small theatre, and open decks to enjoy the views as we cruise along. We will pull in to our final port in Prince Rupert this afternoon. After reboarding our motorcoach, we enjoy beautiful British Columbia scenery following the Yellowhead Highway to Prince George, BC, for the night.

Sun., July 13: From Prince George, BC, we cut down through Quesnel, Williams Lake, and Kamloops, BC, and on to Three Valley Gap in the splendor of the Monashee Mountains. On our way we drive by Shuswap Lake - a popular resort area. Three Valley Gap is in Eagle Pass and tonight a guide will narrate the history of the area, plus take you through the beautiful Bill Gardens. Then on to the Ghost Town Tour, and conclude our day with an included delicious dinner.

Mon., July 14: Today we cross from British Columbia into Alberta today, inviting us into the world of the Canadian Rockies as we visit the Lake Louise area and on down to Banff. There will be time to shop and sightsee here before continuing our way to Medicine Hat, AB, for the night.

Tues., July 15: From Medicine Hat, AB, we cross through Saskatchewan, with stops in Moose Jaw and Estevan. Then we cross back in the United States, with our overnight in Minot, ND.

Wed., July 16: Homeward bound with many memories of our Alaska Southbound tour to take back with us. Comfort and meal stops will be made along the way. Thank you for traveling with Utopia Tours.

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS: Receive a 100% refund when canceling, for any reason, up to final payment due date. After final payment due date (listed on individual brochure) and up to 7 business days prior to departure receive 75%, less non-recoverable fees; this is for medical reasons only, need note from doctor. (Travel companions are also covered) Tour cost is non-refundable 7 business days prior to departure. There are no refunds on the air or cruise portion of the tour after 61 days prior to departure. No refund to no shows and for non-covered cancellations. If client cancels reservation, any refund processed by credit card will be less a 3% processing fee. Call us for information on Optional Insurance with Travelex. The purchase of optional trip cancellation or interruption insurance is highly recommended.
