Sun., April 6: Journey to the East Coast experiencing the history of our Nations Capital, and the Big Apple. We will become acquainted with our traveling companions enroute to the Chicago area, our overnight destination.

Mon., April 7: We continue eastward today enjoying the countryside as we drive through Indiana and Ohio to Pennsylvania. We will be spending the night in Monroeville, PA.

Tues., April 8: This morning we continue driving through scenic Pennsylvania Dutch country to Lancaster, PA, where we will enjoy an Amish style lunch, plus tour the Amish area and countryside, and spend time browsing in their fine shops of handmade crafts and other items. Then continue on to Gettysburg, PA, for the night.

Wed., April 9: This morning we will enjoy a guided tour of Gettysburg National Military Park. It was here that the most important battle of the Civil War was fought on July 1, 2, and 3, 1863. Well leave for Washington, DC, after the tour. Lunch (on own) will be at the Smithsonian Institute. This afternoon we tour the Capitol, plus visit the World War II Memorial. Enjoy the pink and white Cherry Blossoms in the area while in D.C. for the next three nights.

Thurs., April 10: This morning we are off to Arlington National Cemetery, including the gravesites of John F. and Robert Kennedy, and the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Row upon row of simple markers remind us of the true cost of war, peace and freedom. From here we will go to the National Air & Space Museum. Then travel Embassy Row to tour the National Cathedral. Then we will tour the Lincoln, Korean and Vietnam Memorials, FDR Memorial, and the Jefferson Monument. Sure to be a day filled with history, heritage, and pride in our veterans and our country. After going to Union Station to eat this evening you will enjoy a night driving tour of our nations capital. Washington, DC, at night is truly a sight you must see.

Fri., April 11: This morning we will walk in the footsteps of our first president and better understand the life and times of George and Martha Washington at Mount Vernon, their 18th century estate. Plus see the Iwo Jima Memorial and visit the Holocaust Museum. We will spend some more time at the Smithsonian Museums and see the Kennedy Center

Sat., April 12: Departing Washington, DC, this morning we travel to New York City and go to Manhattan Island. A local guide will board our coach for a city tour that will take us "uptown, downtown, east side, west side and all around the town." Well enjoy seeing the Bowery, Battery Park, Wall Street, the Garment District, Central Park, Theater District, and Ground Zero. We will then continue to our accommodations just outside of New York City in Secaucus, NJ, for two nights.

Sun., April 13: This morning we will board a ferry that will take us to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty for the afternoon. A stop will be made at South Street Seaport, and enjoy a view of New York City from on "Top of the Rock" (Rockefeller Center). Enjoy an evening meal (on own) in the Times Square Area. You also have the option of attending a Broadway Play this evening (not included in price of tour).

Mon., April 14: Leaving New York City behind, our scenery will change from skyscrapers to gentle rolling hills and deep forests as we make our way to Elyria, OH

Tues., April 15: From Elyria we travel to Shipshewana, IN, which is the third largest Amish community in the United States. We will have a delicious meal at Das Dutchman Essenhaus in Middlebury, IN. Then continue on to Rockford, IL.

Wed., April 16: We are homeward bound today as we return from our Washington, DC, and New York City Tour, enjoying the country and big city skylines, DC Cherry Blossoms, historic places and museums, and much more in this fun Spring Tour. Meal and comfort stops will be made along the way, arriving home early afternoon. Thank you for traveling with Utopia Tours.
